quote of the day

I was stunned to find that the metropolitan government is putting the Olympics ahead of inoculations. I am angry that we are instructed to work as support staff during the Games with only a single dose.

A Tokyo metropolitan employee working as support staff for the Tokyo Olympics, expressing outrage after learning that the metropolitan government is delaying the second shots of the COVID-19 vaccine to support staff for the Olympic Games to ensure side effects from the doses won’t cause them to miss any work.

I'm stunned this employee is only realizing this now.

Why would they do that? Most just get a sore arm for a day or so.

I would ask, does anyone think that, should the games have been cancelled, the Japanese government's vaccine roll out would have been fast, smooth and effective? The Olympics looks like a proxy target for people who are nervous about criticising the government directly.

How many Japanese will blame everything on the Olympics and then vote LDP again at the next election?

Truly evil. Koike owns this as that’s where the buck stops

Found out that rather late…lol

I don’t know if it’s because I’m a pharmacist but it baffles me how many people don’t understand common knowledge regarding vaccines. The most common side effects are a low grade fever, pain/redness at the injection site, lethargy… Nothing that warrants taking time off work (for the vast majority of people).

Aren’t there medical professionals informing the government about these matters? Oh that’s right….

I cannot find a link to find out if this is true or not. Can anyone?

I only know of one person out of about fifty that pulled a high temperature and lost two days of work. All the rest had either no pain, no issues or slight uncomfort after the second dose.

This is truly wrong, but keep in mind there are way more support workers for these cursed games that have no shots at all, its all wrong!

This is why you should join a union, to ensure safe working conditions. And the union should start a strike.

It’s about time people start showing some ‘outrage’ at the way government treats them.

More outrage when appropriate please. Get together with colleagues and form some group outrage too. Start standing up for yourselves more.
