From what I understand this magazine is POSITIVE showing that regular people might not be all consumed by hate and propaganda. Good on them.

Political and cultural issues are separate matters. If that wasn't the case, Korean wouldn't have copied some styles from Japan like music and art. Koreans can be little too proud to show some humility.

In other words, if we can distract the general populace with entertainment, then politicians can do what they want, no matter how much they mess up. Been doing this since Roman times!
