quote of the day

Infrastructure is being improved to accommodate visitors to Japan of various nationalities, cultures and religions. However, the nation is short of places of worship for Islam — one of the three major religions in the world. I'm a Buddhist, but I wanted to create an environment where everyone can say their prayers at ease.

Yasuharu Inoue, head of the Tokyo-based committee, that came up with the idea of a mobile mosque for Muslim residents of the Kanto region. The truck, about 12 meters long and about 2.5 meters wide when it drives on the road, has sides that expand, making the inside a 48-square-meter prayer room that can accommodate more than 50 people at once.

"Everyone"? What about female worshipers? Is there a separate space for them?

They can pray anywhere. There is no need for a mosque.

Note to religious people...you don't need a church, mosque, temple, etc to pray.

Who’s paying for this?

Hope it has nothing to do with the taxpayer.

A mosque is all very well as long as it meets with the approval of all Moslems---which is most unlikely and.as happens in other countries it could be set on fire. Militant moslems can be very vindctive.

Where is the money coming from to pay this private entity? Are they charging admission fees?

Nope no sign of separation so it’s male worshipers only.

@Jimizo

Who’s paying for this?

The full article in the Japan News says, a "Tokyo-based event organizing company and others."  It seems the newspaper, the Yomiuri, chose to withhold info about what and who are behind it.
