The fact that moral education makes up a huge part of the initial learning for children in Elementary school yet something as simple as respecting a woman is overlooked shows a huge problem in the system.

The fact that moral education makes up a huge part of the initial learning for children in Elementary school yet something as simple as respecting a woman is overlooked shows a huge problem in the system.

If that's true it's close to giving the reverse message - respecting the opposite sex is not a moral requirement.

It is important to teach young people what constitutes a sex crime

I find that a strange idea. Before learning about the complex definitions of "crimes", is it not more important to learn what you and others find as wrong or uncomfortable, and learn how to deal with it before it gets to the crime level? Otherwise we could be teaching youngsters some weird stuff ("Well, technically, it's not a crime if he does this, but it is if he does that.")
