Buy chocolate, “for themselves, as a reward.” Dead stop. End quote. - The free advertising is enough. Young people don’t need to be reminded they can’t travel abroad nor that they can and may get some kind of infection for St Valentine’s Day.

Many customers are buying chocolates for themselves, as a reward for refraining from traveling and other activities to avoid getting infected.

So in order to celebrate not traveling or going to crowded public places, they get out of the house to go and travel to buy chocolates at the crowded department stores.

Makes complete sense.

And no doubt giving each other covid as they do so. Have you ever been to one of these shops around Valentine's? And last I checked they were not practicing social distancing... or at least not enforcing it.

In any case, why do they need such an excuse (a Valentine's campaign) to do this? Go buy yourself an ice cream or chocolates any time.
