quote of the day
Not many people are supporting Abe enthusiastically—it’s just that they can’t think of anyone else. The sense of inevitability surrounding Abe depends on the global economic environment. If conditions become harsher, that could change greatly.

Sadly, this is all too common in politics everywhere.

Okada, a former high ranking member of the opposition can only come up with "if things change ( for the worse ) globally, we may stand a chance". And this folks is why there is NO serious opposition or options to the Abe administration.
Probably a good thing, until its not!

The reason is bc. nobody else that can replace him(?) Hmm, the issues are too much about his scandals and no LDP lawmaker is found to be replace him to clean up the corrupted party it is now. More support to him will be more corruptions walking around him...

. . . the way i look at it, i think Koike Yuriko could be the start of something new . . . of course i,m not saying she,s perfect, but like i said, she could be the start of something new . . .

rcch,
Would like to agree with you but she is also a bonafide paid-up member of the backward thinking,Nippon Kaigi as well.
She only wants what Abe wants.......a return to fascism.

yes, but it,s not easy to find someone interesting in Japanese politics ... someone that could break the establishment so Japan needs to start somewhere ... that,s why i said that it "could be the start of something new". the fact that she ,s an open minded woman(!!) could mean something ... people are tired of the same old men ruling Japan since forever aren,t they... i know it,s hard to be optimistic about this but...
Spitfire
