quote of the day

Once you enter the real world, you will encounter blatant sexual discrimination. Unfortunately, the University of Tokyo is no exception.

Good quote. He slapped them with a little reality. Nothing better for young adults to ponder.

Chizuko is a SHE! She is one of the foremost feminists in Japan with an acclaimed background. She herself was a student activist in her younger days.

It would be better if you watched or read accounts of most of her speech.

I doubt such a right-on-the-bean speech has ever been presented at Todai.

Just need students to rise to the call and start pressing.

Meekness and weakness will not get it done.

If there were multitudes of Chizuko-sans banging on their drums, change may begin to dawn, but alas too many too worried about what others will think.

This sure beats the platitudes I've heard at entrance ceremonies, albeit only for elementary and JHS so far.

fwiw, I suspect any young woman going to Todai will probably have encountered sexual discrimination already.
