I was surprised to see PCR tests on sale next to the checkout at Aeon owned supermarkets (about 2900 yen if anyone is interested).

Those over the counter PCR tests are useless for official purposes, like travel.

@Luddite I didn't really have travel purposes in mind. But if there is someone who is ill and worried about having the virus it might be helpful information for them.
