quote of the day
People use me in different ways. Some people are lonesome. Some feel it's a shame to go somewhere (interesting) alone — they want someone to share their impressions with. What's amazing is the huge variety of personalities, circumstances and situations.

Nobody want to be with a miserable person, if you cannot give your best, do not bring your worst to a relationship

very weird society, just to be short and frank.

this is a world wide problem. So many People these days can only communicate online, by text message. They don’t have the confidence or skill to interact with people face to face.

Some of it will be loneliness, and some of it will be at "plus one" events, maybe to cover up lies. An unattached straight woman or lesbian who previously told her relatives she had a boyfriend to stop intrusive questions etc.
The big beneficiaries of this kind of service are probably social commentators, who can use it as evidence for all kinds of society-wide issues in a projected, exagerrated, or outright sensationalist way.

I’ve seen this guy on TV. People post him to do things like have dinner, go for a walk, watch a movie etc.
Kind of sad but nice he’s being helpful, at a price, of course.

This is the saddest thing I've read today and it's only 09:41 in the morning. Are people in Japan really lacking in social skills that they have to resort to a rent-a-friend service?
