No, the solution is to get the police in, as he is violent towards her and has been assaulting her.
The next part of the solution is that he move out of the house, whether he wants to or not. Why should she move out? Get the aggressor the hell out and make sure he keeps away because he is in prison ad with a restraining order that the police actually pay attention to.
