If that were true, certainly NHK would have shown that as a vindication of Abe's policies. The fact that they haven't proves its not true.

Funny, I have seen not a single article about Okinawa in any of the many international papers I read, and I mean not even a sentence in passing. Between Europe being overrun by refugees, the middle east on fire, China's economy imploding, and election season beginning to move along in America, there is plenty of more important news to print. Okinawa is barely getting any press in Japan. On a scale of 1 to 10 in international importance, the US base relocation in Okinawa couldn't make the cut for the top 10000 candidates.

Japan took 11 last year, and looks to accept even fewer this year. America will accept up to 70,000 for 2015. I hope America tells Onaga to kiss their red-white-and-blue ass.
