Good for him, if only the rest of Japanese business leaders would do the same the government might then listen, they are never going to listen to the public at large (until the Japanese people start to act like a real democracy and hold there elected representatives accountable at the ballot box).

The Olympic grounds are like a protective bubble which both physically and mentally hide the reality of the pandemic from both sides . The hierarchs brazenly declare the Olympics will go on whether the public likes it or not. We will see what disasters await as the games proceed. Meanwhile, we residents of Japan are living an "olympics" of our own--staying alive in the face of a shortage of vaccines.
