The government share a responsibility on causing this, not only because of the ineffective way they choose for the implementation of the social distancing measures, but because of the contradicting message of holding events like the games which completely defeats the purpose of telling the people this is a time for caution and restrain.

Of course, the people have forgotten and now ignore ANY of that ‘sense of urgency’ they may have felt from Feb-Mar 2020. The indecisive governments lied and manipulated people at every step. The ‘leaders’ behaved hypocritically every chance they thought they would not be seen, caught or questioned.

I believe that the prolonged and increasing use of the alcohol hand-sanitizer is leading to the diminishing of individual immune system among the population therefore contributing to increased cases.

As long as the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths continue to have sudden and important elevations this does not matter, the sense of urgency is still necessary to prevent spreading getting out of control and causing deaths. If the population reached levels of immunity that interrupt spreading this may not be necessary, but right now it is still essential.
This makes no sense, first because it would be extremely easy to detect (because immunity is important for all kinds of infections, not just COVID) and second because there have been people that ordinarily use hand sanitizer on their work since decades ago without having any kind of immune problem for it.

No one really cares anymore.
