That was obvious many years ago. This century Thailand and Malaysia demonstrated their potential and in the past ten years Vietnam has made great progress followed by more recently Cambodia and Laos. Japan has been going nowhere for a long time and Abenomics has done nothing to help.

@gaijintraveller ... Exactly. Japan is simply legislatively and culturally at a disadvantage compared to other ASEAN countries when it comes to business competition. And I don't see things changing anytime soon. So Nomura is right to realise that there will be more rich people (customers) outside of Japan.

LOL, yeah right that's why South East Asians are headed to Japan for work. Because there are so many opportuites in SE Asia, they are getting on a plane and head to Japan or back trucks trying to get into the UK.
