quote of the day

There's a high chance it (the meal) has been made using American beef which uses growth hormones and stimulants, and it's bad for your health, but it's cheap and delicious so I often eat it. I'm in the second half of my life now, so I guess it's fine. Young people should take care though.

Why apologize for telling the truth?

Reuters reported that Japan uses more pesticides and other agricultural chemicals on its farms than any other country in the world, due to the high humidity-heat levels that breed lots of pests and small plot sizes, requiring maximum productivity.

I guess he could have thrown that in his speech as well for a bit of context, but, hey, propaganda is propaganda.

Industrialised farming and "food" is killing us. Eat local!

Bertie, is that “local industrialised food”?

Yes I agree reducing food miles is helpful but more important is traceability and knowing how the food was produced. Crap processed food can be produced locally and good quality food brought from afar.

Sadly there are no simple solutions to complex problems.

What a load of garbage. More American bashing it would seem. In the States, most people have an abundant of choices when it comes to food, most people do care and want more grass fed beef, it’s like anywhere else, if you want food filled with junk and hormones, then that’s your choice, if want all natural hormone-free you have more than enough choices.
