quote of the day

There’s a limited quantity of vaccine available right now, so local governments have no alternative but to make better choices flexibly. For instance, by diverting vaccines earmarked for elderly people to medical personnel.

Nobuhiko Okabe, the director general of Kawasaki City Institute for Public Health. The vaccination of medical personnel against COVID-19 has not progressed as expected, due chiefly to delays in the vaccine supply and inflexibility regarding its implementation.

This is kind of misleading. Unused vaccine shots are piling up right now in Japan, according to a story by Reusters yesterday. 24 million shots are still sitting in freezers, while 10s of millions of more are about to be imported.

This is because Suga san was waiting for Japan to make a vaccine. He waited too long and now look at what's happening in Japan.

I think it depends where you live. Miyazaki Prefecture announced this morning starting at 7am tomorrow the vaccine is available to anyone who wants it (7am to 5pm each day at the local health dept.). My bro in law in Kagoshima says they have been full on since May 1.

As long as Japan takes its time approving vaccines and sorting out the logistics this will continue to be a huge problem. The country had a year to prepare but the government choose to keep its zero changes approach for health measures.

It does not mean you need to keep the available Mr vaccins stored in freezers. Nonsense again. There is much more vaccin delivered than is being used and the real question is , why is that ?

Current main headline:

'Unused COVID shots piling up in Japan amid slow rollout'.

It seems that Mr. Okabe is either misinformed, or talking complete wham.

If memory serves correct this " quote " by Okabe san is about 2 weeks old. At that time lying Suga,s official line was still " EU is not delivering supplies to Japan "
