Yoshihiro Mizutani, director of the Society for Disaster Shelter and Refuge Life. In the wake of natural disasters in Japan, "cardboard beds" have provided a relatively warmer and comfortable sleeping environment for victims at some evacuation centers, freeing them from the ordeal of having to sleep huddled on the chilly floors of gyms and other public spaces. But they have not been popular.

Selfish, inhumane thinking from people who have never known hardship or been affected by this kind of tragedy and loss.

But the Olympics are all for them, of course.

That's a heartless comment. The most recent big disasters have been floods, and I wouldn't blame anyone for their house not resisting 2m high waters carrying mud and sewage.
