They are not abortion pills. They stop pregnancy from ever happening. That is not abortion. It's avoidance pills.

Why your first thought is that a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Tokyo U. would make that mistake?

The pills they are talking about are abortive, it is even recommended for the specific purpose of ending pregnancies above the first trimester. They are not "morning after" pills.

Professor Osuga seems to have forgotten that Japanese females have unique uteruses unlike any uteruses on the planet so it will take a Japanese pharmaceutical company to come up with a unique Japanese abortion pill, as soon as they reverse engineer LinePharma’s pill.

And then there were none... I think the only way humans will survive is to make machines that can mimic the uterus and grow the fetus until "birth".

I realise that your comment was made with your tongue firmly in your cheek but, being serious for a moment, the world's population is estimated to grow from 7 to 10 billion by 2050. This growth, mainly in Africa, will be unsustainable but nobody seems to know or even care.

I doubt they're unaware. It's funny how those who want to see more and more births don't do anything to look after children born in poverty. Hell, there are even some cultures (not naming any but you know) where adoption is frowned upon. Overpopulation has to be discussed and tackled. It is only going to get worse.

@Michael Machida: You have NO idea what you are talking about. Either you are confusing this with the Morning After Pill or you object on religious/moral grounds.
