There is a huge gap between areas with regard to support for students who need Japanese language education. I believe that half the students who need to be taught Japanese live in areas where there is little language-learning support.

Iki Tanaka, head of YSC Global School, a private education support program. Educators are raising concerns that while the number of international students is on the rise, these students do not have the same access to language-learning opportunities depending on where they live in Japan.

Blue: Thanks for the post. I read the name and assumed it was a private language company. Glad it's not. Not surprised about the stats on government support or the lack, rather. As you rightly said, they are hellbent on getting people here, but once here and bragging rights have been achieved, that's it.

The Japanese government cannot even adequately look after its own students let alone foreign ones.
