quote of the day
This is a problem that has existed from old times. The wider use of smartphones has made it easy to take such shots. As it is also no trouble to spread them on the internet, the damage is now very serious.

Covid to the rescue. Spectators are banned from Olympic venues. Perhaps this is a model for a less visually exploitative future. Spectators can't take dubious photos if they aren't there. This also removes the issue of blurring all the faces in the crowd on privacy grounds. Remove the seating, parking and toilets, and stadiums can be smaller and cheaper, events having less impact upon the environment. The next Olympics could be held in Worthing.

Taking such photos might be seen as a problem, but I have already the bigger problems to understand who and why someone ever wants to watch such things. In the very most cases it’s just only disgusting, isn’t it?

Let me rephrase my comment. A question. Are people really turned on and titillated by watching someone in a sports uniform all sweaty and doing their best physically?
I find that quite odd, to say the least.

Shinkansen-san, you would be amazed at what turns people on. These days it's all out in the open and society is beginning to look like a Bruegel nightmare.

Society problem. Not specific to sports, don't think it's really something they or anyone can address
