quote of the day

Today, over 53,000 Tennesseans are directly employed by Japanese-owned businesses. I believe wholeheartedly that the future of our collaboration with Japan looks bright and will continue to flourish as it has over the last couple of decades — it is certainly a priority of mine.

Tennessee Senator and former U.S. ambassador to Japan Bill Hagerty. The state receives half its $38.5 billion in foreign direct investment from Japan and there are more than 200 Japanese companies in the state, mainly related to the auto industry.

Lots of Japanese company official dread getting sent in the backwoods, with no culture, except bluegrass

And certainly these investments are greatly appreciated by the citizens there.

Hypocrisy and a general ignorance of ‘the States’ from someone who post things like: “American generally do not know the difference, between Chinese, Japanese or Korean?

Hagerty is one of the mentalists who supported Trump's claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Strange eyes and hair implants. Creepy.

Do they, generally speaking?

That must explain why while we're there a few weeks ago lots (and I mean lots) of people kept on asking my J girl which part of is she from, even though she has a typical Japanese name and looks very Japanese (now please, all 2Experts" to jump in) and say "there's no "Japanese look".

Yes, there is.

Even after she reminded them of her nationality, the "xie xie's" kept on coming.

YouTube is full of videos showing exactly that: Americans (generally) cannot tell a Vietnamese from a Japanese.

Not even which language is which.

Fact.

Bill Hagerty is conflating the state and private companies-he is mistaken to do so in my opinion
