quote of the day

Unjust discrimination and prejudice based on race, ethnicity, nationality or other reasons is simply impermissible. We should seek to achieve an inclusive society where people respect each other's differences and live by helping one another.

In Japan the monocultural society? Obviously this joker has never tried to rent an apartment as a foreigner in Japan.

Wave good bye to your country if you think like that

Just look at the US and Europe

Well in Japan, its not been permissable, but also the SOP of not only regular Japanese, but also the law and its civil servants.

We should seek to achieve an inclusive society where people respect each other's differences and live by helping one another.

Of course, but that is the polar opposite of what Japanese society actually is.

Exactly. Nothing will change.

We should seek to...

You're the Justice Minister. Do something about it!

So you think unjust discrimination and prejudice is the only way to run a country? that speak a lot but only about your own values.

Exactly. And the idea that Europe and the US don't have unjust discrimination and prejudice based on race, ethnicity, nationality or other reasons is ridiculous. Thinking that eliminating those awful things will destroy a country is even more ridiculous.

Europe is not a country.

Best start with the basics.

I can fully agree, because of the word ‘unjust’. That leaves still some necessary and significant room for further discussing and case by case considerations.

Are there such things as just discrimination and just prejudice? These bureaucrats are good with words but never do any actions to back them up. It will never change here because the general population doesn't give a damn. Shoganai.

So, if you go someplace where you fall in any minority category, it's OK for them to treat you unfairly then. I see.

A comment like this is unbelievable from a Justice Minister. The Ministry of Justice is a major part of the problem regarding the blatant inequality in Japan.

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, but I don't see much action backing it up.

I would think the justice minister has more ability to enact this kind of change than almost anyone else in government.

'Unjust discrimination" is a redundancy. "just discrimination" would be an oxymoron."

Now excuse me while I look the other way as a library in Fukuoka cancels a Russian film exhibition.

Could it be he knew that obvious point and meant......several countries in Europe?

Nahhhh.

Lets assume he actually thought Europe was a single country. Its always safer to be pedantic.

after a spate of cases across the country.

What is he talking about?

Another big problem is the completely legal age discrimination in Japan.

Right but there are dozens of countries in Europe.

Isn't that basic?

Pay close attention to the "word" justice = JUST US, those within not the outsiders
