quote of the day

Unless they are having close conversations, we urge people to remove their face masks if they are commuting to work or school on foot or by bicycle, or when they are walking, running or doing radio gymnastics and other exercises.

I still see idiots driving alone in their cars, riding bicycles, or jogging with masks on.

Radio gymnastics? As in one listens to instructions on the radio and performs gymnastic feats? How...odd.

Regarding the removal of masks, somehow even with the blistering heat that plagues Japan in summer I doubt they'll remove their masks.

Just drop the bleedin' things altogether. They do little to stop the virus from spreading and cause more problems than they solve.

When they see you, do they ask you to wear a mask too? If not, mind your own business. There may or may not be a need to wear one, but it's their choice. That's the problem I find with certain westerners. Next, you'll be complaining about the clothes other people wear, as if it affects you.

At any given time pre-pandemic, about 20% of Japanese people wore masks due to colds or allergy, so don't read too much into a bit of mask wearing in Japan. If they are still being tested for Covid, they would not want to test positive as it would mean time off work. That may increase and extend mask use. Other restrictions (such as China's Covid Zero and Japan's tourist blocks) are political, China choosing to pretend to still be in 2020 and Japan in 2021, to manipulate society.

Except for tourists in their North Korean-style travel bubble. They're told to keep masks on. Madness.

Typical Japan. Talking out of both sides of their mouths.
