quote of the day

We are often called the Abe channel online, but there is no government interference in our coverage. I don’t think our coverage is biased.

His assumption that the public is that ignorant is really pathetic. Here's an old article, but it's from foreign media, so take it with a pinch of salt: http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/content/2014/s4008641.htm

NHK under reported demonstrations against Abe's unconstitutional so-called security bills and now laws. The Abe and LDP channel for sure.

Momii needs to understand that it is what is "left out" more than what is "put in" that constitutes an obvious obeisance.

But then he'd know that wouldn't he?

I don’t think our coverage is biased.

So says the man who famously defended the "comfort women" system, and who's budget must be approved by the LDP-contolled Diet.

Nothing makes me more convinced of a network's integrity than it's chairman insisting his opinion without a shred of data to back it up, that it has integrity.

Hahaha JOKE of the day is more like it, a sick one at that!

But then again this old fool may really be that daft to actually believe what he's saying..............truly pathetic!

What a joke. You can't get any critical coverage of the government on NHK. Even when they cover a controversial issue, the newscasters look terrified, like they are walking on eggshells and every word has been carefully chosen.

Not at all , Japan is a pure conservative country starting from being religious elite ruled country , It's a good and a bad thing , the good thing that it maintains order and prosperity and the bad thing is when the ruling elites get out of order the public are used to revere them so revolt is unlikely to happen , removing that means riots and decentralization rules over and chaos will rule over japanese thinking

I remember that many japanese told me that in japan two things you are not allowed to talk about when you are not an expert , Politic and religion

Hahaha JOKE of the day is more like it, a sick one at that!

there were many riots wasn't televised when japanese invaded china did that stopped the invasion nope , any country I don't mean japan , Europe , Soviet union , Greece , Iraq under saddam regime , even in medieval empires , Protest that was unarmed was crushed and they took glory in crushing it

In 9 years in Japan I did not pay the NHK fee once, and I am very glad I didn't.
