In the "old form" of capitalism, middle class households could live off a single breadwinner's income. Now, they need two incomes. So, you'd have to be a masochist to want this "new form" of capitalism when the "old form" was so much better.

In the future, EVERYONE will be working ALL THE TIME, because that's what the billionaires want.

Unfortunately capitalism resulted in 99% of the resources going to 2% of the people.

The rest of us peons are left, fighting for the table scraps.

Hooray to unbridled capitalism.

There is reminder making the rounds these days:

It used to be, "I hope I can get more overtime so I can save and buy a house." Now it's, "I hope my 2 or 3 jobs are enough to pay the rent."

Women should always be paid equal to what men with the same skill and experience, make.

Nothing new in this and hardly a reset of capitalism. If this is the limit of his vision and ambition, then he has little of either.

Hmm.Will require a new mascot and a catchy katakana English name.

How long before 5 conglomerates owned by equity funds own 80% of the world? Not long at the rate we’re going.

The strategy is simple. Buy it, run it into the ground, fire as many “human liabilities” as you can, take away benefits, hire part-timers who know nothing about business and let 30-something B-school graduates with no experience in the industry run the show until you sell off the assets and bankrupt it after raiding the pension funds.

My wife busts her ass for 15 man a month in one of the dodgiest contracts you can imagine. Highly productive, creative, great communicator, team player, actually gets things done and does them well. Ten times better than her mediocre boss who, for all we can tell only is good at navigating a bureaucracy for short projects and grants then hiring a conveyor belt of mainly female staff who he works until they quit or end up in hospital. Hasn't a clue nor seems to care about what might be a fair pay for their efforts, and shows them little direction or leadership in the actual tasks that he throws at them. Wife works all day as she was conned into being excited about this new 'career' , most nights, weekends as well, all while having a carrot dangled in front of her nose. She has made the mistake at being too good at what she does so he throws more and more work at her for the same salary. Lesson to be learned, don't do anything to well in today's current J work climate.

If these super ladies ever get their act together and find a way to cut out these 'middle men' the whole country could be revitalized. It's demoralizing to work so well for so little pay. The lost decades are still here. Let's see what you can do Mr. Kishida.

boost women's income? or just force more women to work to boost the total income OF women (the group)?

I am for the first but against the second as a woman should be able to stay home and raise her kids if she so chooses.

That means in return, at same available sums of money and resources in fact more or completely excluding men from their income and economic participation. I doubt that such a new capitalism based almost only on some fashion, jewelry , tapioca drinks and flower shops is any or the holy solution. lol

Yeah... by what... 4000 yen a year, and in exchange allow 100 hours of overtime a month?

Oh boy, a "new form" of capitalism! Those have worked so well so far. Even if they perfectly equalized the pay gap between genders, which they won't, things wouldn't be looking that bright and cheery.

How about...not capitalism? Not that any elected politician would ever shoot themselves in the foot by suggesting that.

So... are women still required to wear hills at work?
