In other words, he expressed his Christian belief that certain behaviors, if not repented, put a person's soul at eternal risk. And for this, he's in trouble?

To drag someone in front of a code-of-conduct panel because of that is a deeply disturbing thing.

And to think that there are people out there who see this as "progress" ...

It isn't progress. It's draconian.
