Chinese media reported today that there were no football games played last night and that nobody lost. The mass illusion people reported seeing on their television was just a delayed vaccination reaction, as was Tiananmen Square.

1.402 billion (2020) all seemly with born with two left hobbit's feet.
Be afraid, if no improvement imminent, all will destined for footy 're-education' camps.

they’ve qualified for every World Cup since 1998 - wouldn’t you call that successful ?

Maybe stop spending all your energy on coveting other nations territories, and disappearing any opposition. Then, you might have a bit more energy left to focus on sport improvement.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt
Spending billions, and yet can't get a result in Vietnam (who spends a lot less) to even get a snowball's chance to qualify for the World Cup

“Fine! You guys are mean. We’ll take our ball and go home.” - (This story reads like a ‘news’source oft used but with Weibo instead of tweets. Perhaps more such commentary leaked from Beijing to come in the next few weeks or will censors kick in there and abroad?)

That's true. They really should not be copying the Japanese national rugby team.

« They need to learn from the Japanese youth programs (i.e. J league academies and some of the high schools here have top notch football programs) as opposed to naturalising Brazilian players (they have 3 in their team right now) »
yeah it’s not like Wagner Lopes (1998), Alex Santos (2002, 2006) and Tulio Tanaka (2006) were naturalised and played the World Cup for Japan - which I am totally fine with.

Actually, this was Hao Haidong who said this.

Maybe they should try being good at their sport, then their people won't have to complain. If this is the best they can provide from 1.3 billion people, the problem is primarily that the Chinese are not very skilled at soccer.

Not only did they lose, but according to the picture it looks like they got teabagged too!

If you are a fan of your team, be a true fan and stick by them for the bad and the bad and the bad times. Heck, once a century, even the Cubs can win, just once a century.

The picture for this article made me laugh.

Good

Yes, because Japan has been so successful in men's football.
