I would go but South Africa is truly too far from Japan

World Cup is about the game, as well as the hoopla surrounding the event and celebrations with other fans outside of the matches. I would trust that the government of SA will be able to secure the venues themselves, but how about afterwards? I don't want to go to any bars, street parties or general sightseeing for fear of getting robbed, injured or killed, after hearing the advice of my government and SA friends.

"U.S. residents sent in some 50,000 applications, followed by Britain with 41,000. Neighboring Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia made a combined 5,500 bids."

"Americans" more interested in soccer than the Brits ? Imagine them apples. I love it ! Go USA !
