Postpone!

Its just the Olympics nobody gives a rip anyway. On top of that if they do not postpone it year nobody will come. Getting the olympics is more of a curse than anything else unless you own a taxi, hotel or train.

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach stressed the Tokyo Olympics will go ahead as planned.

a Greek actress playing the part of a pagan priestess used a concave mirror to focus the sun's rays on a silver torch, causing fire to spurt forth.

I was very disappointed to discover that these exceptionally bonny young ladies weren't actual temple maidens but actresses hired to play the part. Is nothing sacred? It's PC gone mad.

The ancient games started in 776 B.C. and were held in Olympia for more than 1,000 years until they were stopped in early Christian times because of their pagan past.

Typical killjoy Christians, they ruin everything. I wonder if the leader's name was Mikeius Pencius.

I find the whole thing rather funny..looks like some low budget "Swords and Sandals" type film of the 1960's.

If Japan goes ahead with the no spectators Olympics in the summer Tokyo heat, it will be the biggest failure in Olympic history.

Just like almost everything else falsely ascribed to ancient Greece, Olympic Games were too stolen from Ancient Egypt. https://imgur.com/a/9y0dRvk

Read the book Stolen Legacy. Such a pity that the greatest civilization that ever existed, that gave birth to European, Indian and Chinese civilizations, is now reduced to ashes, and everything they gave the word is falsely ascribed and associated to the biggest thieves in ancient history - ancient Greeks.

Are they going to wipe the handle with sanitizer every time they pass it to a new runner?

I was just laughing at this ridiculous ceremony on TV last night.

"The sacred flame'... give us a break.

The IOC has shown the world the Olympics are a vehicle for corruption, money grubbing, environmental destruction, bankrupting cities and dumping all the costs on hapless citizens.

More and more people are completely against the corrupt games.

If Japan goes ahead with the no spectators

Do pray tell, which countries will be bold enough to participate during a pandemic? Talk about a Petri dish on steroids.

Postponement isn't in the ioc contract and it's a logistical nightmare. Change is terribly slow in japan but ship's already sailed. There will be no olympics. Any sane leadership would be looking ahead to prepare for the blowback. But nah, not holding my breath.

More gold medals for Japan.

Cancel this.

The death toll in Italy just passed the 1000 mark. Corona virus is raging through the world. Ain' t no time for gathering of large crowds. Postpone the Olympics or cancel it outright.

"Just like almost everything else falsely ascribed to ancient Greece, Olympic Games were too stolen from Ancient Egypt."

The fact that the Chinese were kicking a ball ten "billion years ago" doesn't mean they invented football; football, the game and its rules was invented in Ingurland.

Never mind we can barely play it now, but that's a different story!

Looking forward to upcoming "scientific" research "proving" that the Marathon was actually born in Kenya, that Yasuke (black "Samurai) was the best Samurai ever (!), or that the Yayoi were totally darkk, therefore making the Japanese the descendants of black people. Or that without black scientists, rocketry and the NASA moon adventures wouldn't have taken place.

"stupidity will kill you more surely than your opponent's blade.”

This is a small sample of internet lunatics, available after a small online search.

Where's her mask?

IOC should make the decision pretty soon instead of waiting till end of May as they said. Sooner the better.

There is no way to hold the Olympic in July based on where we are now.

The game should be either postponed to next year or canceled entirely.

That torch will be extinguished soon sadly.

I am not sure i understand your point. You contradict yourself, which is typical for English people. You claim that just because someone was "kicking the ball" in China does not mean they invented football, but then you claim that England invented football. Why? Just because someone was kicking the ball in England? You are confusing popularizing a game, and inventing a game. Football rules today are very different than back in 19th century.

Either way, what is that has to do with what i said? The ancient Greeks stole everything from ancient Egypt, including their mythology and scholarly work. I am simply saying that the sports that are now associated with ancient Greece were actually ancient Egyptian. The Greeks took the sports event from Egypt and re-named Olympus sports, because they carried it out at mt. Olympus. We are celebrating Egyptian culture, not a thief culture.

Also, Yayoi were not Black, they are ethnic Koreans.
