The headline had me thinking that this might of been in Japan. However, Japan doesn't have any type of law relating to discrimination or phobia!

So now they have outlawed friendly banter and ribbing between viral fans....Used to be part of the game...Sad.

@Mr Kipling

You seriously can’t tell the difference between abuse and banter?

Must be a Chelsea fan....

Looks like the Japanese fans are more civilized than the British fans.

Homophobia, racism and sectarian abuse is not friendly banter.

The sooner it's stamped out; the better.

Ban them from all soccer events, forever. Maybe that will get them thinking about it as they cry victim and claim unfair treatment based on their thoughts and beliefs.

Well, they do and they don't. Right now they are developing hate speech legislation, but enforcement of it is much like with most lip-service law here. There are some prefectures and municipalities that are stepping up, but being met with a lot of resistance by people who think hate speech is okay on a case by case basis.

To be fair to the Seagulls and Brighton, this kind of behavior is the exception, rather than the norm.

Brighton is a welcoming and tolerant place, for the most part.

Sectarianism is a poison.

Evicerate where found.

just as bad as racism

There's plenty of history showing just how rowdy, devoted and crazy these Brit soccer fans and crowds can get. There's been plenty of stampedes and riots.

But at times National Front skinhead scum have disrupted the games too, and now there's these bigoted boorish hooligans that have to open their big stupid yaps and cause trouble for others because they don't know to behave in a sporting event, or anywhere else.

Ban these immature scumbags from the games for life. If they have no regard for others or even themselves then they shouldn't be welcome to civilized competitive events like this.

Yes, lets all just sit cross legged and watch quietly, possibly do some knitting at half time...

Don't gentrify soccer... Its all the working class have left!
