The problem is Djoko is already 33, the tour schedule is grueling, and his counterpuncher style means, especially on clay, long, exhausting rallies. He also goes deep into almost all tournaments, so that adds up to lots of matches and huge toll on his body. His neck was bothering him for a while, and the cold and very slow conditions in France don't help either. Hopefully he will be fine and we will have another Djokovic-Nadal treat in the final. And for beating Nadal, he has to be ready 150%

Djoko also has a penchant for seemingly acting hurt or in some amount of pain before miraculously recovering. Call it mind games or whatever.
