This guy is a real tosser - no wonder he’s disliked

In other news, Emma Răducanu was one point away from unleashing a double bagel on her opponent.

I like Djokovic.

Good show Nishikori! Just taking a tiebreak off him was a fine effort, considering what he is on the verge of achieving.

C'mon Novak! History is within his reach.

Nishikori is playing well, close to his former best in my opinion. I predicted he will be back in top 20 before retirement, but do not think he can go higher.

This year US Open already had some great matches, and I this is an optimistic glimpse of the future of tennis without the big three. Sinner just won a great match against Monfils, Alcaraz downed Tsitsipas in an epic match, unfortunately Korda got sick. Tiafoe is also an interesting player, his match tomorrow with Aliasime will be an interesting one. Zverev and Medvedev have been steady, and are the greatest threat to Djoko.

On the women side, I think Emma has all the traits of the next big star: great game, great personality, modest and intelligent at the same time. And it also ticks the "diversity" card, so overhyped nowadays. Ash Barty just lost, so she will face Shelby Rogers next. Btw, it is nice to have Halep back.

Djoko seems to wind up the woke/pro-vaxx types something chronic, so I'll cheer for him.

You mean the anti-science, anti-mask Covidiots?

I am happy that vaccine passports are being rolled out around the world - including in Japan - and will prevent these jerks having freedoms the majority of us will enjoy. Most of them will back down with their tails between their legs and get fully vaccinated! Guaranteed.

I also predict no one can go higher than the top 20…

Kei himself has a goal to get back to the top 30 this year so good luck to him.

Novak had Covid last year so wouldn’t he have a degree of immunity from that?

Yeah, I think this is going to be his year!

Pukey2: "Yeah, I think this is going to be his year!"

Nah, man, 2022 is going to be his year -- right now he's just resting, and the other players are too tall this time.

I'm actually not sure what he's ranked at the moment. 40th?

He was down in the 60’s last I looked but I see he was at 56 this week.

Still around 700 points to go to get back into the top 30.

At least JT didn’t show a picture of the loser…

A fantastic tennis player and an unlikeable show-off.

You're right. 56th. Thanks for letting me know.

Wolfpack: "A fantastic tennis player and an unlikeable show-off."

I think that sums it up pretty well, although some like his showing off. Was pretty harmless. Certainly beats sore loses smashing rackets and hitting balls at the crowd.
