One of the best Japanese skaters of all time, no question. But why do they always mention that they are fluent in English? He's just average at best. Nothing wrong with that but it's kinda annoying when they use the word fluent every time someone is able to string a couple of words together and manages to create a sentence the level of a first grader. If that's required in Japan to be named fluent they gotta long way to go

Jason Brown was breathtaking, so fluent. Shocking that he was dropped so low just for not performing any quads. Hanyu was excellent, but these two were closer than the scores might suggest, and there are areas where Jason is definitely better.

It's still a treat to see Hanyu skating perfectly. Enjoy the artistry while we can. It won't be many more years before the downhill slope begins.
