This is very exciting even if I'm not an Angels fan. Baseball needs new stars. I can't wait to see him in action

My parents were in attendance. They have season tickets but can't go to all 81 games every year. Lately it has been hard to sell off their tickets as the Angels have been up and down. Otani will definitely fill the seats.

I am so excited to see Otani as a front rotation starter. Pitching has been weak of late and/or often injured.

Many kids do both hitting and pitching, but they give up one or the other when they join MLB. Hopefully, some will be inspired to keep doing both.

That kid had better perform after that grand entrance into MLB...

He does not have to worry English in Orange County. If you subscribe cable. services, channel 49 is Angel channel.

Trout married. This is first big news. Ohtani gave to us.

Hardly rains and no snow. Best place he can enjoy.

Glad he did not choose Giants or Dodgers. He must have learned. how terrible Rangers has been every year.

@DaDude: You are right. It lost AL chance because of weak starters and bullpen.

I wish they'd stop putting an 'h' or 'u' in their names, usually after an 'o'.

Eg, Koutarou Saitoh,

yes, I know it's to emphasize a longer pronunciation, but most foreigners don't know that, & it just confuses people more often than not .

Well he is going to find a completely different game in the U.S. and will be playing baseball rather than yakyu. It will be interesting to watch him and see if he can succeed or not. He has the chance, which has always been his dream, so I wish him success.

I think more AL teams may recruit young talents like Angels did to get Ohtani to Angels. He does not have to spend time in Cactus league. The female interviewer Alex Curry must be busy learning basic Japanese conversation, now. Mike Scioscia must be glad his team added Johnson and Ohtani for coming season.
