World Cup Soccer and the Olympics.... seems like it might be pretty dirty business at the top levels.

The IOC family protect their own, as this is the way to getting lucrative payoffs, perks, positions and power.

Olympics, elite colleges, professional sports teams scamming cities for subsidies; there's nothing sacred or immune to corruption in life, and especially in organizations with major stakes riding on events. No entity - including the religious - should be sacrosanct; maybe there are some that are blameless, but none come to mind.

It was the same way with the 1996 Summer Olympics. On the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympics you would've thought they'd be held in Athens but nooooooo! They were held in Atlanta instead, due to bribes. On top of that, the hot humid weather during those 2 weeks was oppressive to the max, and the TV network (ABC) covering the Games featured chatterbox reporters who covered ONLY American medal ceremonies, the American athletes were arrogant ('Only the gold will do!') and the stink of jingoism pervaded the air (it was a Presidential election year to boot).  I call that the 'Egolympics', I was so disgusted and sickened by it all.

So many of these functionaries at the top of sports bodies are to some degree corrupt.  The money in sport is too excessive for it to be otherwise.  Plus they are largely talentless hacks.

Follow the money, this guy clearly doesn't have 2 million just sitting around, ASO the finance minister would have had to sign off on the payment... Aso clearly is guilty!

Let me add a bit more detail to your post.

Japan (and every other hosts) bribed to get ... games.

Take away lesson is, choose your consultants wisely, never do the deed yourself if you can get a third party, fourth party to do it.

However the witnesses, African representatives, also received huge donations from China over and over again. His allegations were totally rejected at the Olympic Committee, who loves racism for anti-Japan, by donations and lobbying of China and Korea because Takeda was a former member of the Imperial Family. No one examines his claim, trying to sanction him with just one scammer's testimony. And it was said to be reprisal for the arrest of Carlos Ghosn by French gov.

After all, no one could provide evidence about his injustice. This is usual racism of IOC that targets only Japan.

IOC always rewrites their rules to favor players of White and their minion states' every time Japanese player makes a new record in swimming, ski jumping, track and field, figure skating and judo. It has been repeated for over 50 years. Should we have to give way to racists' harassment again?
