Playing high intensity singles for 5 sets, 4-5 hours under hot and humid conditions is brutal, even if these guys are highly conditioned pro athletes. If you even been to a singles tournament in Japan in summer, many people get sick.
Unfortunately I could't watch the Nadal-Shapo match, but the Monfils-Berettini battle was also epic. Even the greatest athlete in the game, Monfils, faded out in the fifth, age is catching up with him too.
