2020 is the year of Nadal and his fans around the world.

While Nadal won his 13th French Open crown on Sunday, Iga Świątek – who revealed her sheer admiration towards Nadal, "(Nadal is )The only player I watched" – won the French Open women's singles title the day before.

When Rafa bageled Djokovic, I almost dropped my tea mug. It's like someone forgot to tell Djokovic he was playing in the French Open final.

Rafa's ace to win the match was a thing of beauty. After 13 wins at RG, the man's eyes still well with tears at hearing his national anthem. Rafa truly is an asset to tennis, always gracious and generous.

Today the best man definitely won.

Yesss!!

Rafa's record is quite freaky. 13 times to win the same tournament is unbelievable. And although that first set was 6-0 (and Djokovic wasn't playing badly), it took 48 minutes so almost every game went to at least one deuce. Rafa was just so deadly at converting the key points. Thinking about it, 48 minutes must be just about the record for the longest 6-0 set ever.....

I saw only the highlights (damn you wow wow), but Nadal was magnificent. Out of this world. And Djoko has had one of the best years of his career, but Nadal neutralized everything. Even with those heavy balls and the cold, slow surface.

No asterisk next to 2020 French Open, unlike the US Open. Most major players turned up and Nadal had to play some top opponents. Now, level with Federer whom I don't see winning any more major tournaments, let alone GS.

Agreeing with Timeon above. Behind a paywall. Not even a replay offered by NHK or anyone?

Hearty congratulations to champion Rafa Nadal. There is lot more vintage tennis yet to come from the rackets of Nadal, Novak and Roger. It's a delight to watch them in action. May they go on and on.

@Timeon - the match was shown live on Wowow last night.

Mocheake, that’s the problem, the overpriced wowow has the rights for grand slams. For family reasons I have cable tv, for myself tennis tv, and paying 3000 jpy monthly for wowow is too expensive
