Wolfpack
Once in a lifetime athlete at least. A modern day Babe Ruth.

Ohtani-san is indeed an impressive baseball player. Hopefully he can stay healthy for a long time.
Happy Day
Nice to see Ohtani leading the All-stars- well-deserved. But Kikuchi and Darvish also made it. Great to see a steady stream of Japanese players in the majors.

He is an excellent player, and even more so since he is also mainly a pitcher and the team was hesitant to have him batting at first.
Now, the local media, on the other hand.... 40 minutes of "SUNGOI! SUNGOI! Yappari Nippon! SUNGOI!" and fawning over the guy like there are no other players in the world... sickening. Get ready for this during the Olympics.

Agree Japanese baseball is painful to watch. So predictable and maybe that’s one of the reasons a lot of stars leave. All the sacrifice bunting and small ball gets awfully tiresome and the games themselves drag on forever.

Go-Shi! And for those who have ever been to a Japanese baseball game and were bored out of their skulls, American MLB makes Japanese baseball look like the minor leagues .

Ohtani's certainly got the it factor. He can do it all. Hopefully he'll be able to play for a long time to come and remain injury-free.
Kumagaijin
Derek Jeter, Wade Boggs, and Larry Walker any many others were better players than George Brett.

When he is in the HOF, I trust you will eat your shoe.
Mocheake
Can the HOF talk for now, please. He has a long way to go for that and one season does not a HOF make.

and so happy that the Angels won today in the 9th. I always feel things get wasted when Ohtani plays like this and they lose because of lousy pitching.

Otani and MLB are discouraging Japanese pro ball fans watch their pro ball games. We feel we are watching minor league baseball games.

SHO-TIME!!!

If he stays healthy he’s a lock for a first ballot HOF. I never thought I’d see a better player than George Brett or Ichiro.

Shotime is amazing! And in a year where batting averages are down. Stay healthy Shohei!
