Congrats to Canada and all Canadians. Also, to Cameroonians, Kenyans and Spaniards. The Raptors are truly an international team and Kawhi proved he was worth the gamble.

... and, let's be honest here for a sec, all Americans on the Raptors' roster.

Excellent result!! Would be cool to have been in Jurassic Park!

Go Leafs!

I'm sure the Raptors will have a much better spread in Ottawa than the Warriors would have had at the White House.
Bravo! for Toronto and their fans. Golden State fans should be equally proud of their team. Congrats to all for great games.

Kevin Durant - calf strain then torn Achilles
Klay Thompson - torn ACL
Holy cow, that's what it takes, and just barely, to beat the Warriors - 2 horrible long-road-to-recovery injuries
Who knows when the Warriors would get either of them back next year

@Goldorak, yes. Forgive my oversight.

The real MVP: Danny Green .

Always Good to see the underdogs triumph - well done !

Life long Warriors fan, I was 10 years old when they won the title in 1975. We (the Warriors) lost a lot of games (40 years worth) before this current streak of excellence. With that said, I know what it's like to suffer as a fan and CONGRATULATIONS Raptors fans. Now, the rest if us get to say, 'we'll get it--- next year'.

Hopefull this win increases the possibility of another NBA franchise in Canada. I know the Vancouver team did not do well but with Seattle not having a team any longer, maybe it could work this time? Montreal would be cool. Years ago there was a MLB baseball team there, they had some great teams at times.

Nice to see a bit of classiness in the Age of Outrage.
TorafusuTorasan
Re age of outrage--but the co-owner sucker punching Lowry, the Raps fans vocalizing after Durant went down, Drake touching coach Nurse plus various players--those were legit outrageous happenings, at least for the sports realm.
TorafusuTorasan
Go Leafs poster wrote the same non sequiter on the Stanley Cup story. I want to see him sneak that into a non-sports story.

And even in this very thread!

As a Lakers fan, for me the only thing that mattered was the Warriors losing. It really irked me going home last summer and some of my friends that I often went to Lakers games with in college told me that they liked the Warriors. If Lakers trade for Anthony Davis and get one max free agent, we will be talking about the Lakers this time next year.
Blacklabel
Guess they don’t need to worry now about declining their White House invites.

Vancouver should have a team back. All the other teams loved coming to Vancouver

Sports help surviving tough times. WW1 and the flu epidemic but people were also reading about the 1919 Black Sox ban. MLB and NPB barely missed one season in WW2.
Pro athletes are punished in house for fighting, not by the legal system--this naturally leads to pushing the boundaries/ rage worthy stuff.

Not a Raptors fan per se but I'm happy for Kyle Lowrie, and I'm happy to see history made (first NBA championship for a team outside the U.S.)!
Nippori Nick
Let's not forget the Raptors went into Oakland and beat the Warriors in their home court 3 consecutive times.
lostrune2
Yep, home court didn't matter in these Finals
NBA Finals: 5x the home team lost (most ever)
Stanley Cup Finals: 5x the home team lost (most ever)
And now, the Warriors won't have Klay and KD next season for a long while. Heck, now the Las Vegas odds-on favorite to win next season's trophy is.................. the Lakers! They didn't even make the playoffs this year! Lol (Has to be the bookers are assuming that Anthony Davis will be a Laker next season.)
