He was a great wrestler back in the day - a pleasure to watch, but sumo needs to clean up its act.

Although Takanohana is a bit of a showboater, this is what happens when you try and instigate change to a out of date and self serving soushiki. It’s a battle of wills to the bitter end, and everyone ends up losing. Definitely time to go back and focus on the actual athletes rather than this side circus.

Sad. Takanohana was always a problem outside the dohyo, but as a wrestler he was great. His duels with Akebono were a treat.
