Says it all, doesn't it?

To Ganbare Japan.

It's hardly once in a lifetime event between the winter and summer Olympics it's every 2 years. And the ripping off of tax payers who the vast majority will have to watch the games on tv, what a waist of money. By the way it will be back in Tokyo again. There's only so many countries that can spend that kind of tax dollars to put on an event like the Olympics for a few.

I snuck into the closing ceremony of the '84 games, trailing the British team. I'm glad they caught me just at the end lot the tunnel - don't know what I would have done if I'd reached the stadium floor. Security laughed and kicked me out but didn't watch me, so I snuck back into the stands. I suppose that saved me a lot of money.

You could probably do it next year as well!

Oh, and it's "sneaked".

Ganbare Japan: "But its a sign of the booming economy now in Japan"

No, it's a sign of greed, and utter stupidity if anyone takes it up.

People with too much money and time on their hands.

including much-anticipated athletics finals like the men's 100 meters and 400-meter relay.

Wouldn't that be the 4x100m relay? It is more popular and Japan has major success with it.

Yes, it sure is expensive. 6 Millions Yen is more than any of us here can dream of. But its a sign of the booming economy now in Japan: many people in Japan do have this sort of money to spend on a once in a lifetime event. Tokyo 2020 - Greatest show on earth!

Wow that 'national stadium' will be a huuuuuuge white elephant once the 2 week event is over.

Sorry, but why does anyone act surprised, shocked, stunned, etc by this news? You just realized now that the true meaning of the Olympics is to separate people from their money, not the actual sporting events?

Way too expensive..

Does people have enough money to buy tickets for this hefty price or am I just broke...

This is what it's all about, money, Olympics, football tennis, golf, any major sporting event that has a committee, that is all that matters, how much money can we make. from sponsors, TV and advertising rights. All these committee's have been exposed showing major corruption, but the circus keeps revolving. They don't care if the host country or city makes a loss, not their problem. At the end of the day any losses are footed by the tax payer.
