Dumb. Like Tokyo, only more so, Aichi-ken lacks the facilities that are requisite for international competition, save for the marathon. And like Tokyo building an entirely new stadium rather than renovating the existing facility, whatever Aichi is required to build in order to host the games will mostly be facilities that will either be underutilized money pits for maintenance or simply abandoned a few years after the games.

Somebody made a very sensible suggestion a while back. Just have these mega sports event permanently held in one place (or rotate among only 2 or 3 places) and have member countries chip in for the cost of running the events. Makes a lot more economic sense.

Once again Japan wants to hold every single international event under the sun. So, they're undeterred by Tokyo's blunders, how about taking into account the sky-rocketing costs, including that the city will have to pay itself?? THINK, people!

There may be some facilities from the World Expo leftover in Aichi which could be used again.

Alternatively, have the site registered afterwards as a UNESCO world heritage site, and people will flock to it!
