No Olympics, no problems.

The reality is that 40%~60% of people infected with the virus are either asymptomatic or very mildly symptomatic (like this person) and naturally overcome it. FYI, George Floyd also tested positive yet it didn't seem to be an issue for him although he had serious heart disease.

As far as who wants the Olympics canceled, the sampling of the people polled is quite small and unlikely actually represents the populace fairly.

I personally don't care about the Olympics either way.

So was his family a worry to him? And were these people counted as testing positive? Did any of them need more care? Coaches? Etc. seems a pretty bold statement. To what end? Why didn’t he say something before?

so many questions

"Not much of wordsmith. Stick to playing football, please."

I wonder if you would had written the same thing, if had said cancel the games?

Not much of wordsmith. Stick to playing football, please.

He played rugby.

Despite his brush with the virus, Read believed the Games would take place and had the support of the Japanese public.

Apparently, Kieran is either pro Olympics or doesn't want to make waves with politics. If he were to check his facts, more than half of the Japanese don't want the Olympics.

Reed: tell us how much was in the brown envelope, eh, bro. Or, why not send a FB message to Jacinda and make your case for her to open NZ for business ASAP. You seem to be advocating the Japanese model of dealing with Covid after all.

"It wasn't too bad, there was a day or so of feeling pretty bad and upset. Then I came good.

Because you are still young and prime of your health - ask the families of more than 11,500 dead people in Japan whether "it wasn't too bad"......

Also would be good to find some investigative journalism to find out how much pressure they put on him to make this public statement in support of Olympics....

Half our team got it and it went round quite a few of the clubs so they postponed the season.

This one like thousands of other clusters was deliberately allowed to fly below the radar.

We will never know the true numbers.

Like so many other washed-up athletes, Read lives in a bubble and is completely out of touch with the people he once entertained. Shameful.

Despite his brush with the virus, Read believed the Games would take place and had the support of the Japanese public.

80% of Japanese are against holding the Olympics this year even the pro LDP news outlets are at 60% or more.

So how can he say the Japanese public support the games?

Clearly this player has no ability to read the room - or the polls that consistently say the great majority in Japan do NOT want this rubbish to go ahead.

Cancel the trainwreck NOW.
