@anon: I agree with your question about GoToTravel. We are still traveling anyway every 4-5 weeks. We are having a blast and although costs are higher without those 30% reductions, we are loving it. Setting up an overnight train trip...The Sunrise because we believe in the numbers and so many people are not traveling so we are hooked.

Service is fabulous and all the hotels send us thank you emails with special discounts. Rabbit Island, Okunoshima was fabulous for three nights.

Talent, discipline, ambition and fitness are important in the making of legends. Serena, Federer, Nadal, Djokovic - they keep improving. Tremendous role models for the upcoming new brigade of champions.

People like reading articles about her. I have an idea - she's famous, with lots of people who want to read what she says, you're an anonymous internet hack that no one cares what you say. Maybe you could try not reading her articles, then your stress would go down, and the people who enjoy reading her articles can keep reading them. Or, are you one of those people who thinks that just because you don't like something, no one else is allowed to either?

Agree, she should stick to sports, not politics, not racism, though it does seem she plays her black card or her Japanese card when it's convenient for her. I don't say the Japanese people, overall, much care about her one way or the other; the Japanese media play her up like she's Japanese, but she doesn't live in Japan and doesn't speak Japanese. It's the J media that are playing her up; most Japanese, imo, don't care.

Can't stand her attitude.

I switch channels if they're interviewing her.

Your definition of who is Japanese is narrow, and to be frank, totally irrelevant. Naomi-chan was born in Japan, has a Japanese mother, a Japanese passport, and chooses to represent Japan. She loves Japan, and is loved and looked up to by the majority of Japanese.

Enough already. I hope Naomi chan wins that Gold (or 2) in Tokyo, and keeps speaking her mind in standing up against racism and injustuce.

Naomi Osaka is well lived everywhere, but you wouldn’t know it from the dozen or so gloomsters that lurk around here
