Watched the game this morning and Ohtani was just devastating. His splitter was wicked and his fastball mixed in with the splitter must have looked like bb's. The perfect game was broken up by a ground ball between 3rd and short. Homering 3 games in a row and now this? Having a blast watching this kid! He is great for the game

Ok, I admit he's been great so far, but not even a month into the season. I'll have a wait and see approach.

I think Mike will give him at least two. days rest before he will be assigned to DH facing another. team. Forgot which team is waiting to face Angels.

He has been far better than I thought he would be. That said, the A's are creampuffs but if he starts doing that to the Astros, Yankees and Red Sox, then we can start a real conversation.

@Mocheake - Watching the game his pitches were really nasty. I think any team would have had trouble with him today. He kept A's off balance and there were cases where the bottom fell out of his splitter.

Mike Trout had some pretty impressive things to say about Ohtani.

Of course this could be a fluke but his pitches were amazing. The last batter he faced he hit 98 MPH and pitched out of a men on 2nd and 3rd situation and showed some real composure.

He will be a force to be reckoned with if he can stay healthy. Will he be a superstar? Who knows? But he was dominating today.

This is really exciting to watch. It is like Fernando-mania combined with Ichiro-mania all focused on the same guy.

I never thought his hitting would translate in the majors. man, i was wrong. Less than 2 weeks into the season so we'll have to see how he holds up through the long season.

All you doubters about Ohtani, get ready to see him get even better. He could do 20 wins and 20 HRs this year. That is right, you saw it here first.

Next 2 games will be against Texas and KC. Both teams are losing teams but always tough against the Angels especially the Angels killer Adrian Beltre. I'd say Ohtani will be off tomorrow then DH til Friday, Saturday off then pitch against KC. Can't wait and glad Mike Trout was awesome today.

@ainyday: You remember Fernandmania. mike Sciocia was catcher of Odgers at that time. He. Is watching Shouhei mania in team he manages now.

Well, great! Loving this.

This afternoon PT, Angels will be against Rangers in TX. If Trout will get oon base in early inning, and Pujols hits something, I will. guess Angels win. Rangers don't have Darvish.
