Gunners visiting the Palace without wearing their goal-scoring boots made life easy for the Eagles. Scoring three against Arsenal is a huge win for gaffer Vieira against his former club. Congrats to scorers Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha. Well played CP.

Too right Mr Zichi. What a performance from Palace, especially the first half, Arsenal didn’t know what hit them. Pleased to see Mr Zaha back to his best, Viera has him playing better than under Mr Hodgson.
Next up Chelski for the semi final, double plus excited.

Palace's front line is developing into something quite potent. Last night they had Eze, Edouard & Benteke on the bench, I can't remember them having options for quite a few years. Palace fans must be chuffed at how Viera is working out.
Chelsea will have a game on their hands.

It's becoming very apparent that Vieira is the mature experienced manager that Arsenal need. I have never been convinced about Arteta and it is criminal that a club of Arsenal's stature allow a manager to learn on the job.
However I don't think Vieira would want to work for Kroenke and Kroenke himself would be uneasy with such a legend working for him. Arteta is the yes man that Kroenke craved.
Looking at Arsenal's subs bench last night was absolutely shocking. How can a club on the same financial level as Liverpool have such a difference in depth of squad? The answer - Kroenke. Kroenke has successfully stripped all the high earners from the payroll by using Arteta and excuses such as falling out with Aubameyang.
Arsenal want to qualify for Champions League next season but in all honesty they would need to add at least 5 or 6 top players to satisfy the squad for a Champions league run. And that ain't going to happen.

Getting into the CL will help you to get those players. Arsenal is still a prestigious club and can attract talent and pay good wages. And all you have to play for this season is the league, but I suppose Spuds do too.
I understand your frustration, but Arteta has done well to get them into contention after the start to the season, and I think that it's between you and Spurs for that 4th spot. Don't underestimate Spurs's ability to balls it up even more than Arsenal!
I had to check, and yeah, it was a bit thin. You could argue that Palace had a better bench.
