Yu-Na is awesome. I am tired of the Mao coverage already and it is only day one. Go for it Suzuki Akiko!!

The official "judges" like Queen Yu-Na's moves better, therefore she will win the gold.

Good luck to both. It is indeed a pretty interesting rivalry, less because of the nations they come from (especially when they pretty much always have foreign coaches!), but because they are both very talented. If Mao skates as she has been for the past while, she has a very good chance, whereas we don't know what's up with Yu-na. So, hopefully Mao doesn't freeze up because of the pressure being mounted on her (as was said above, she did not mention any rivalry in her comments, only the media did), and it'll be a good competition. And hey, there ARE other skaters in the event as well.

This article header is misleading. Mao did not mention Yuna at all. All she said was:

“My physical fitness and skating have been very good since the start of the year. I will adjust my condition after arriving in Sochi and go out competing with a positive attitude. This is how I feel.”

She has repeatedly said, she wants to end her competitive career skating her best at Sochi. Why is this reporter constantly acting like there's some negative bickering going back and forth between the two skaters. Fyi...Mao's main competitor is herself, not anyone else.

Kim Yu-na is a much better skater.

Kim Yu Na will blow her away quicker than she can say hello and good bye!

I don't know what it is about Mao, but I've never felt anything while watching her dance. She is brilliant technically, but that thing that you feel when some dancers dance and some singers sing...just isn't there. I wish her the best though. And good luck to her winning.

Good luck to the both of them.

One thing I find curious, though. The two are often billed as rivals, but if Mao seemingly comes up short every time, I'm not sure how much of a rivalry it is.

Miss Asada is an amazing athelete. And she's sooooo cute. But her choice of outfits and music throughout her career has left a lot to be desired. I hope she can find a more flattering wardrobe for this event and a passionate, exciting soundtrack to perform to.

Yu-Na is a most formidable opponent, but Mao-san can do it ! Ganbarre, Mao-san ! Ganbarre, Nippon !
