Congrats!
i remember when we used to have tons of NHL fans on here.
What happened?

They showed that they were for real in last season's playoffs and played like a team on a mission! Congrats to them and especially GM Joe Sakic one of my all time favorite players even if he did play for the Nordiques. They're a stacked team and if they get a true # 1 goaltender, they could win several more quickly.

I presume the low wages paid in Japan have scared off all the North Americans.
MacKinnon is a great leader

Glad Tampa Bay lost.

Congrats to both Colorado and Tampa Bay.l
Great series.
And congrats to the nhl for knowing where the true viable hockey market is. Nothing can surpass it.
Excellent marketing to say the least.
I mean, wow, nhl teams in Vegas, Florida, California, Texas, etc AND winning!
Damn! That is some smart stuff.
Must sting some misguided prideful hockey towns up there.

As I predicted, TB would win one more and then the Avalanche would clinch it.
Outstanding offensive and defensive play by Colorado.
They are the team to beat next year too.
Randy Johnson
Both TB and Colorado's rosters are 54% Canadian.
Say what you want about the Stanley Cup drought, but when it comes to the best vs the best in Olympics, World Cups etc, theres no doubt about it.
Everyone else is playing for second place
Incorrect. TB roster is 45 percent canadian while the Colorado roster is 48 percent canadian.
Regarding the olympics, canada has won only three gold medals since the '52 Oslo Olympics and often/typically going medal-less during that time frame.
Most canadians may think they are on top of the hockey world but reality dictates otherwise.
Randy Johnson
Nah. Still 45 and 48 percent according to espn.
And by your logic, edmonton should have beaten colorado because edmonton's roster is 66% canadian.
a "B" team comprised of the players unable to make Canada's Olympic roster would probably win silver.
That's a hypothetical based on nationalistic verve. And still it doesn't wash because this last olympics saw no nhl players so each country had their best 'b team' and little ol finland handily took the whole shebang. canada didn't even medal.
Those so-called dominant days are over.

The best playoff hockey is first round.
Randy Johnson
Heckava series despite it going six games!

Canadians can't stand the fact that no canadian nhl city has won the Cup in 30 straight years. It honestly bothers the vast majority of that populace.

Down, Tiger.

Thats why I literally said the "best vs the best"
A casual fan would not know that the Olympics have rarely had the best players available from Canada because they've taken place during the NHL regular season. This is why the USSR beat up on a bunch of University players for so long.
Whenever the NHL paused the regular season to allow NHL players to compete, Canada has won almost every time. Same goes for the old Canada Cups. In fact, a "B" team comprised of the players unable to make Canada's Olympic roster would probably win silver.
Theres no contest. Canada is simply dominant.
master
thats because ESPN is a half arsed website that uses pre-season rosters OR your math is off.
If your logic led to that conclusion, then you need to start from scratch again.
Its a hypothetical based on decades of knowledge and intense observation. Unlike some who clearly took up the sport sometime in the last 2-3 years.
Case in point. The Canadian team was not a B team. Nor the C, D, E, F or even G squads. They were a team comprised of journeymen playing in Europe and recent retirees in their late 30s.
Actual hockey fans would know this information.
Stick to MMA, Tiger.
