you can't just manufacture sporting success overnight. But that's what the people running international rugby seem to want to do with Japan. Maybe the Japanese aren't suited to rugby. There is nothing wrong with that. I happen to feel its the same way with soccer. The Japanese just aren't made for soccer success. Baseball, on the other hand, they are very gifted at. why not just accept that and move on.

"Maybe the Japanese aren't suited to rugby" Why not? The Japanese are more than capable of holding their own at this sport. Soccer success? They won bronze in the Mexico Olympics and made the WC quarter finals in 2002. That's a better success rate than the English team. The problem with this team is a very shallow pool of talent to choose from. Basically they got leftovers and a few lower level home stars. With an open check book from the end of this season the SunWolves should be doing better this time next year. JRFU has knocked this super franchise ball on repeatedly and risk losing any momentum generated by the well planned and gutsy win over SA. Gomorra needs to come home where he can communicate with his teammates and hopefully inspire a fresher generation of University Students to chase a pro career in rugby rather than wasting away in the system of Universities and corporations. I look forward to next year and a new team.
