Barcelona dug their own grave by paying overinflated prices for & overly high wages to too many players.

Ditto for Real Madrid

Barca appeared to be addicted to Messi beyond all reason, at the expense of their finances and squad development. They needed to walk away from any more crazy deals.

Wages and transfer fees need to be capped, or football will be run by hedge funds.
